You have one last opportunity to see the works of art:
We cordially invite you to the finissage of the exhibition.
16:00 - 18:00
Under the motto "The private is political", the exhibition at Kult41 Bonn invites you to look at supposedly private topics in a social context. From October 16 to November 16, 2025, artists and creators from Bonn and the surrounding area will present their perspectives on the seemingly invisible connections between the private and the political in a variety of formats - from collage and painting to poetry.
The exhibition sees itself not only as an art space, but also as a platform for exchange, discussion and awareness-raising. Topics such as domestic violence, the understanding of bodies and various forms of discrimination are brought into focus. In the 1970s, the phrase "the private is political"was a central slogan of the feminist movement in Europe. Today, we are asking how this idea can also be seen from a perspective that considers various forms of inequality and discrimination together. In an accompanying supporting program consisting of creative workshops, a film screening and a lecture, among other things, space will be created to talk about taboos, shed light on structural connections and make the political relevance in the private sphere visible.
The exhibition is organized by Johanna Fock, Nora Teuma, Paula Bünger and Johanna Lukies, supported by the Kult41 gallery team. The four organizers have known each other for several years from their student days in Bayreuth. They have already organized two exhibitions on the subject of feminism there.
