The current winner of the NEW CERAMICS award, Dorothee Wenz, creates fascinating vessels from colored clay and porcelain. Her artistic working process involves coloring, layering, building, grinding and polishing the clay. Each step is carried out with extreme precision and dedication. The resulting vessels, formed as if from individual layers of sediment, seem to dance in their form. A special feature is the feel: intensive grinding gives the surfaces a surprising softness.
