Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of small things and learn to shoot impressive and razor-sharp macro photos.
Whether it's a flower, an insect or a drop of water, macro photography allows us to visualize the smallest details that are no longer visible to the naked eye. These beautiful and sometimes strange seeming image worlds will be our playground in this photo workshop.
After a short theory part for the introduction and the technical and photographic peculiarities in macro photography , we will look at the advantages and disadvantages of different macro hardware. Those who do not (yet) have their own macro lens or extension rings are welcome to test appropriate equipment on loan during the photo course.
After that, we go directly to the main part of the photo course and go with the camera on the search for interesting plants, insects and other details to try out and deepen what we have learned . Many useful hints, suggestions and tricks will help you find motifs, use light as a design tool and refine your technique.
We mainly work with natural ambient light, reflectors and portable light. In addition, we will introduce small aids and tools that should not be missing in any macro photographer's bag. You will also learn how to recreate the different shooting techniques with inexpensive accessories at home in the garden or on the balcony.
The course is aimed at beginners as well as advanced photographers who want to further develop their macro photography skills or learn a trick or two.
The individual support of each participant is very important to me and you will be picked up exactly where you are at the moment. You will get immediate feedback and suggestions on location and we will take the time to work in depth on our images.
I will help you to master the technique, to find interesting details and to work out new image ideas.
Macro hardware for the most common camera manufacturers (standard bayonet mount for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus) will be provided on loan during the workshop .
Max. participants: 8
(Not included in the ticket price is the entrance fee to the Botanical Garden: regular €6,-)
