Prague, end of the 19th century. Even as a child, Franz Kafka suffers under his authoritarian father. Later, it is the "stupid writing" that his father rejects and the work in the insurance company that does not fulfill the budding writer. Kafka experiences the dichotomy between his fears, his self-doubt and his longing for literary success.
