Futur.X: MONOBLOC

MONOBLOC is a walk-through landscape of chairs, a collection of white plastic chairs with stories. The arrangement of the chairs creates shifting social spaces—stops with no departure, encounters without prior arrangement. In MONOBLOC, a stretched-out experience of time unfolds: waiting as a state of being—in line, in the waiting room, in public spaces. Who is allowed to sit? Who sits where? Who sits across from whom? The installation-based performance is both a collective experience and an intimate encounter. Practical, versatile, and well-worn, the world’s most famous plastic chair is a silent witness to social order. MONOBLOC invites you to take a seat. Or to remain standing.
