Cello Combo (conductor: Gunther Tiedemann). A highlight of the concert evening is the Suite
in four movements for folk duo and the RMS Cello Combo. The arrangements are by
Rupert Gillett and bring the fusion of folk and cello sounds impressively

Valerie Rathmann is a cellist and singer and studied cello at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

About the RMS CELLO COMBO:
The RMS Cello Combo under the direction of Gunther Tiedemann is an ensemble of the
Rheinische Musikschule Cologne. The cellists deal with stylistics,
playing techniques and improvisation in jazz, rock, pop and folk. The combo has performed at venues including the
Hansa Hall of the historic Cologne City Hall and at the "Senftöpfchen" theater. They played
at the WDR for the "Musik gewinnt" (VDS) and "Leopold" (VdM) awards as well as
the "24th New Directions Cello Festival" and can be heard on the anniversary CD "Celloversum".
