Traditional Attire Becomes a Matter of the Heart: On September 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can discover unique secondhand traditional attire or donate your own at the Traditional Attire Market in the Pasing Arcaden (on the Paseo if the weather is nice, or in the area in front of Deichmann [basement] if the weather is bad).

You’ll find a wide selection of over 2,000 dirndls, blouses, aprons, lederhosen, and matching accessories— ranging from classic to vintage to modern. You’re sure to find your new favorite piece for Oktoberfest!

And you’re not just doing your wardrobe a favor: secondhand fashion extends the lifespan of textiles, conserves resources, and takes a stand against fast fashion. Some of the traditional attire was collected through the “aktion hoffnung” donation bins in Munich and the surrounding area, ensuring it stays within the regional cycle from donation to sale.

And best of all: The net proceeds support the “Ninos de las Estrellas” support center in Los Angeles, Chile. There, 130 children, adolescents, and young adults with intellectual and physical disabilities receive support. Among other things, the proceeds will be used to modernize the support center’s kitchen so that the young people there can learn practical skills for their future careers.
