Gur Liraz, a promising figure in the lively Israeli jazz scene, recently released his debut album ""Squiggles"" with his organ-guitar trio - a tribute to the iconic formations of this line-up. He is accompanied on the Hammond organ by fellow countryman Tal Balshai, who is no stranger to Orania, and drummer Tilman Person. With an aesthetic reminiscent of the soulful and funky sounds of the classic organ combos of the 1960s, the trio welcomes the American jazz musician Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq, who lives and works in Germany, on tenor saxophone. The quartet's performance offers a convincing mix of original compositions and a varied repertoire of cover versions. The selection ranges from early funk and blues tunes to complex, groovy jazz compositions and promises an exciting musical journey for the audience.
