Guten Morgen, liebe Sonne, und die Wunder von St. Quirin

In the organizer's words:

A Poetic Tour of “Ois Giasing”

Strictly speaking, St.-Quirin-Platz doesn’t actually exist; the name is simply used to refer to a subway station. But nowhere in Giesing is there a better place to greet the sun, according to the Poetry Ambassadors.

That’s why they’re inviting everyone to a poetic walking tour to kick off this year’s “Ois Giasing” on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 7 a.m. The meeting point is the lawn directly behind the glass dome of the St.-Quirin-Platz subway entrance.

Here, they’ll begin an extraordinary panoramic walk with views of the Alps. Along the way, participants can marvel at hanging gardens and various architectural styles; once they cross the Mc-Graw-Graben, they’ll immerse themselves in Munich’s history and the vibrant neighborhood.

At each stop, participants will not only receive background information and fun facts but also experience poetry live. Anyone who would like to recite their own poem can register at info@poesiebriefkasten.de —a suitable stop will then be found for the piece—or simply show up on the spot.

The event will be hosted by Giesing-based artist Katharina Schweissguth. Free admission.
