Out of nowhere, in the scorching desert heat between the U.S. and Mexico, a gaunt man appears, wearing a dark suit and a red baseball cap. Travis. He takes the last sip from his water bottle, then marches unwaveringly into the wasteland known to the locals as “The Devil’s Playground.” Travis seems mute and to have lost most of his memory, yet he is driven by the desire to find his family again.

"heimkino." is a project in collaboration with Flugmodus GmbH, created to provide a home for the community of film and cinema lovers in the trendy Ehrenfeld neighborhood. As part of this new series, we bring classic films and lesser-known masterpieces back to the big screen every Wednesday. Each month is dedicated to a common overarching theme. Through this, we aim to offer the audience different cinematic perspectives on the same topic, find answers together, and ask new questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
