“A poignant, poetic, and visually striking feature film that, with its compelling characters and their journey toward living in harmony with nature and with themselves, not only generates great emotional power but also prompts viewers to reflect on their own way of life.” film-netz.com

Ad copywriter Mathyas (Félix-Antoine Duval) has had enough. After a stress-induced
breakdown, he leaves Montréal and his career behind to set out without a plan to
Provence. What he sees there stays with him: a life close to
nature, far away from deadlines and slogans. He wants to become a shepherd. The fact that he has no
bothers him less than the sheep do.
The reality of life as a shepherd, however, is anything but a romantic idyll: wolves, storms, and the
silent skepticism of the local farmers quickly make Mathyas doubt himself. When he
meets Élise (Solène Rigot), an administrative clerk who quits her job on the spot, his adventure takes a new turn: Together they dare to do the improbable—spend an entire summer with a flock of 800 sheep high up in the Provençal Alps, entirely on their own.
