"Hier draußen ist nichts ungewöhnliches" (Horror Special III: Folk Horror) - Festival of Animation Berlin
In the organizer's words:
The program “Nothing Unusual Out Here” (Horror Special III: Folk Horror) is part of the official film selection for the 9th Festival of Animation Berlin, which takes place October 8–11 at City Kino Wedding, silent green Kulturquartier, and Kino Central.
About the program:
Amid dark forests, remote villages, and mysterious stone circles, the uncanny lurks where nature, tradition, and superstition converge. Tormented creatures tell of repressed guilt, social exclusion, and a wildlife that seems to be rebelling against its own destruction. The films take us into communities whose rules are just as threatening as the creatures they warn us about. Sometimes archaic and gloomy, sometimes absurd and darkly humorous, they depict a world in which ancient myths suddenly come to life. Anyone who strays into the forest, onto a lonely farm, or into a dilapidated house here would be wise not to assume they are alone.
