Summer, sun, sounds: from August 16 to 18, the HÖRSPIELWIESE KÖLN once again invites you to the annual summer weekend dedicated to radio plays and audio art in Cologne's Stadtgarten (park). The three-day open-air festival offers a diverse range of thrilling radio plays, live acts and a colorful family program aimed at both adults and children. Admission to all program items is free of charge.

The LIVE program at the HÖRSPIELWIESE KÖLN

Friday and Saturday evening are dedicated to the live program. On Friday evening, the Mainz-based radio play ensemble "Mienenspiel" will tell the story of a female reporter during the Spanish Civil War live in "Martha Gellhorn - Stimme des Krieges". The audience will be transported into a world of propaganda, sexism and lies, to Madrid in 1937. The program begins at 7:30 pm on Friday, 16 August. On Saturday evening, the audience can look forward to Christoph Tiemann and Theater Ex Libris, who have already provided exciting hours at the Hörspielwiese in the past. This time they will be performing "SHERLOCK, JOHN & MYCROFT - The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Children's and family program: live reading by Ralph Caspers, crime thriller fun with the Three and a Half Detectives

Saturday and Sunday mornings will feature the usual family program. One highlight: from 11 a.m. on the Saturday of the festival, visitors can look forward to Ralph Caspers. The presenter known from "Wissen macht Ah!" and "Die Sendung mit der Maus" will read from his two children's books "Wenn Glühwürmchen morsen" and "Wenn Riesen reisen". With these stories, Caspers will make the young visitors marvel and dream. Sunday also starts with a colorful family program. At 12:30 pm, the radio play editorial team from KURUX digital will be on stage in Cologne's Stadtgarten (park) with a live radio play of the Three and a Half Detectives.

How to get there

For several years now, the HÖRSPIELWIESE KÖLN has been taking place in the middle of Cologne's Stadtgarten. The park is only a few minutes away from the subway stations Friesenplatz (lines 3, 4, 5, 12, 15), Hans-Böckler-Platz (lines 3, 4, 5) and the Deutsche Bahn Westbahnhof. You can get to the festival site via Venloer Straße and Spichernstraße.
