Hundeschwimmen im Freibad Blumenthal

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

Before the outdoor swimming season officially ends, our four-legged friends can take one last dip in the cool water—of course, only once the water is free of chlorine and the regular outdoor swimming season has ended.
Good to know: In the spring, as is done every year, the water in the outdoor pools is completely drained, thoroughly cleaned, and refilled for the new season.

Dates & Locations

(Dates may change if the outdoor swimming season is extended. We’ll let you know well in advance, of course.)

  • Blumenthal Outdoor Pool: Saturday, September 12, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Schloßparkbad Outdoor Pool: Sunday, September 13, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Horner Bad Outdoor Pool: Saturday, September 19, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

From 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day, there will be a “Quiet Hour” for sensitive dogs and female dogs in heat. During this time, dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the entire premises (including in the water). For more information, see “Important Rules.”

Admission Prices

  • Each additional person: 2 €

  • Each additional dog: 4 €

>> Tickets are available on-site—no advance registration is required for dog owners.

>> Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Bremen Animal Shelter. Many thanks to the Bremen Animal Shelter for their support!

Important Rules

To ensure that the dog swim is a pleasant experience for everyone, please observe the following rules:

  • Admission is limited to dogs with valid vaccinations in accordance with StiKo-Vet (rabies, leptospirosis, distemper, HCC, parvovirus, kennel cough).

  • Quiet Hour (5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day): Not every dog feels comfortable in a large group of dogs. If your dog reacts nervously to strangers or other dogs, or exhibits behavior that could cause stress in a free-roaming group of dogs, we ask that you refrain from participating in“free dog swimming” out of consideration for everyone involved. For these dogs, the “Quiet Hour” ( with a well-fitting muzzle if necessary) is a better alternative.

  • Valid liability insurance is required. Each owner is liable for any damage or mess caused by their dog.

  • A maximum of 2 dogs per person is allowed. If you wish to bring more dogs, you will need additional accompanying persons.

  • Swimming is permitted exclusively for dogs. People may accompany their dogs into the water at their own risk (Note: The water is no longer treated or disinfected with chlorine during dog swimming hours).

  • Dog owners must immediately clean up after their dogs.

  • Dogs must not be left unattended.

  • Commercial photography and video recording are permitted only with the organizer’s approval.
