Hüsnü Şenlendirici comes from a musical family that is deeply rooted in the tradition of Roman Havası, jazzy Roma-Turkish dance music. Both his grandfathers played the trumpet and clarinet, and his father Ergün Şenlendirici was already part of Okay Temiz's Magnetic Band formation, which Hüsnü later joined himself as a teenager. This was followed by tours and collaborations with international bands ranging from the Brooklyn Funk Essentials to the German jazz rock collective Embryo. With his own Taksim Trio, he combined traditional Roma-Turkish dance music with modern jazz influences and became internationally renowned; the trio last played at the sold-out Elbphilharmonie in 2018. The multi-instrumentalist will now be performing with a chamber ensemble in the large k6 hall at Kampnagel.
Info: The concert by Hüsnü Şenlendirici & Ensemble has been postponed to Thursday, 16.10. 2025. Tickets remain valid or can be returned to the respective advance booking office where they were purchased. The reason for the postponement is problems with the VISA application. According to the agency in charge, Hüsnü Şenlendirici and his musicians did not get appointments to apply for VISAs on site in Turkey until the end of May despite applying in good time. Therefore, the entire May tour in the Schengen area has to be postponed to October. We ask for your understanding.
