“I live here, I vote here!” Symbolic Election Berlin-Mitte
In the organizer's words:
On September 20, residents of Berlin can vote for the Berlin House of Representatives and the district assemblies.
Up to 34%* of the people in Berlin-Mitte are excluded from these elections, even though political decisions directly affect their lives.
The Symbolic Election is an initiative that allows people without voting rights to cast a symbolic vote. Our motto is: “I live here, I vote here!”
Through this initiative, we are demonstrating that everyone who lives in Berlin should have the right to vote and participate in decision-making. The results of the Symbolic Election will reveal what Berliners want from their government.
Our symbolic voting station at the Philipp Schaeffer Library will be open from August 31 to September 11, 2026, during our regular hours.
Mon–Fri 10 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
