THE GAP YEAR TOUR
With his deep voice, modern hip-hop beats, subtle autotune effect, good flows and influences from trap and rage rap, ian landed a viral hit with his song "Magic Johnson" in 2024. The accompanying mixtape "Valedictorian" quickly earned him a name within the US hip-hop scene. With the release of his debut album "Goodbye Horses" in the same year, he was able to consolidate this name. With "3.5" and "Hate Me", a collabo track with Lil Yachty, ian celebrated two further successes that exemplify the vibes that the rapper creates on his entertaining songs. His current singles show that his sound is anything but stagnant and are a promising indication of his upcoming developments. In November, ian will be heading to Germany on tour, where he will be performing at the Astra in Berlin and the Carlswerk in Cologne.
While ian's sound in 2022 was still clearly anchored in trap and contemporary hip-hop on his debut single "G63" and the EP "Only For A While", he then increasingly began to experiment with new influences. "Keep Me Aware" was released in 2023 and featured melodic, atmospheric cloud rap influences, which later also dominated the sound of his EP "Empty Suit" . Singles such as "Knew It", "Figure It Out", "Grand Slam" and "End Up Gone" continued to shape ian's musical development. On the debut mixtape "Valedictorian", released in 2024, and songs such as "Magic Johnson" and "Never Stop" , it becomes even clearer. Just four months after the release of the mixtape, which reached number 54 on the Billboard 200, ian released his debut album. "Goodbye Horses" also entered the top 100 of the Billboard charts and marked a significant step towards a new style that was much more melodic than before. On the album, he collaborated with Chief Keef ("Sh*t Sad"), Eyesis ("Goodbye Horses") and Reign ("Big Wigs") alongside Lil Yachty. In his more recent releases from 2025, however, it is clear that Ian's musical development is far from complete. Especially in his current songs "Pack Up", "Get To It" feat. Nino Paid " and "Shut It Down" show that he is once again experimenting with genres such as hyperpop and rage rap. However, his roots still find their way into his music, as the single "Oh Ok - xxl freestyle" with classic, minimalist hip-hop elements and dark gangsta rap vibes proves.
