A journey through eras and cultures
Ilija Tošić is an award-winning concert guitarist.
Now he's coming to us!
Tošić presents a varied program that shows the guitar in all its facets: from romantic virtuosity to fiery South American dances to rousing Balkan rhythms:
His interpretations of composers such as Mertz, Dyens, Lauro, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Tadić, Bogdanović and Domeniconi combine the most diverse styles, moods and musical worlds.
This evening invites you to rediscover the guitar - as a solo instrument full of expression, depth and cultural diversity.
About Ilija Tošić:
Tošić, born in Serbia in 1992, began playing the guitar at the age of 10. He studied classical guitar in Belgrade, then in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne and received a scholarship from Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V.
His repertoire ranges from baroque music to contemporary music and world music. Tošić performs internationally both as a soloist and chamber musician and collaborates with various instrumentalists and ensembles.
Tošić's debut CD entitled "Recital - A Depiction of the 20th Century" was released in June 2024.
