Michael Cera Palin:
Michael Cera Palin are an emo/indie/punk trio from Atlanta, Georgia. With their deliberately vulnerable lyrics, catchy melodies and passionate live shows, they have carved out a permanent place for themselves in the US underground scene. Shaped by a decade of musical self-discovery in Atlanta's open-genre DIY landscape, the band developed their very own sound - somewhere between cathartic punk and introspective emo.
After two EPs (2015-2018), Michael Cera Palin took an unplanned break. When they planned their comeback in 2020, their fanbase had grown significantly, but the pandemic put a spanner in the works. Instead, the band withdrew, continued to work in the background and found a new artistic voice. Since 2022, they have been touring regularly again, releasing new singles - and finally their long-awaited debut album We Could Be Brave in 2025.
With the album in the bag (and yes, it's damn good!), Michael Cera Palin will be touring Europe in October 2025 - bringing with them everything that makes INDIE-WESER special: raw emotions, great melodies and intense live shows that get under your skin.
fume tea heather:
Existential dread but make it cute. In the midst of ashtrays, exam papers and love dramas, fume tea heather was founded in 2019 in a loggia in Lüneburg's Weststadt district. Four friends who celebrate the melancholy of the 2010s together in the finest DIY style. Their music combines the energy of punk with the sentimentality of Midwest emo. Twinkles, capos, harmonics. Gang shouts, tambourine, glockenspiel. It tells of friendship and discord, problem solving and being stuck, self-doubt, crushes, embarrassing moments and disappointments, breakfast at noon, withdrawal from reality and passivity, vulnerability and insecurities, the dreariness of growing up and getting lost. In this increasingly isolating world, it is important to admit your own fears and celebrate them, to embrace them and - between tea and fags - to scream: Fuck you, being sad should be for everyone!
"loggia sadlife" tells the story of a time together, the last years of a never-ending teenage fantasy. The debut EP, recorded during the pandemic and thought to be almost lost, saw the light of day in 2025 with la pochette surprise records. Even though life initially scattered the four in all directions and singer and guitarist Finn Damerau decided to focus on other things, the band reunited in Leipzig/Halle after a three-year break with a slightly different line-up and started a new chapter.
