IndieStabi: Wie das Pilzbuch »Myko« entstand
In the organizer's words:
Mushrooms are everywhere, and in “Myko” they get to speak for themselves. This evening, we’ll share the story of how a Czech book about mushrooms became a German edition.
Our guest is Philipp Schultz from Raum für Illustration. Ankerwechsel Verlag co-published the book with him: from the original to the translation by Mirko Kraetsch to the expert editing by Prof. Dr. Meike Piepenbring. The original was published by Baobab in Prague and won the Bologna Ragazzi Award for Nonfiction in 2024.
Philipp Schultz and publisher Harriet Dohmeyer will discuss design and production, the translation process, and what else is currently happening at the publishing house and at Raum für Illustration. There will be a look inside the book and time for questions.
As part of the “IndieStabi” series, every third Wednesday of the month, a publisher from the List of Independent Publishers in Hamburg (LuV) presents itself and its books, in collaboration with the Hamburg State and University Library. Free admission; the lecture room is signposted from the main entrance.
