2. Documentary film screening Une famille by Christine Angot - French Film Week at the Institut francais cinema (Free admission)

After breakfast, we invite you to the screening of the haunting auto-fictional documentary Une famille by Christine Angot. In this work, the author deals with the sexual and incestuous violence she suffered at the hands of her father during her childhood with great intensity - a moving testimony about memory, language and the path to healing.

"The award-winning French writer Christine Angot is invited on business to Strasbourg, where her father lived and died a few years ago. It is the city where she first met him at the age of 13 and where he sexually abused her in the years that followed. His wife and children still live there. Angot takes a camera with her and knocks on the family's door. She presses for clarification regarding their attitude to the crime that took place years ago. A cinematic journey that questions social norms and family perspectives on dealing with incest."
