Community lecture by Julia Frenzel
Anyone who has ever been to Iceland knows how spectacular the landscape there is. Along the main road that leads around the island are mighty waterfalls, seemingly endless lava fields, bizarre rock formations and impressive glaciers. Most travelers to Iceland take this route. But those who venture beyond the well-known ring road can experience Iceland's nature in a completely different way.
Julia Frenzel lived in Iceland's capital Reykjavik from 2018 to 2022. Whenever time and weather permitted, she immersed herself in the sometimes rugged, sometimes fairytale-like landscape in her hiking boots. Her talk will take you on nature trails off the beaten track. From a short after-work tour near the capital to trekking tours lasting several days in the remote highlands and eastern fjords, you can expect a wide range of impressions and inspiration.
