"ÌYÁ NLÁ", a musical reading (English) as part of the festival week of the newcomer collective "MUSE", which deals with feminist issues in a variety of artistic ways.
"What is gender anyway?
Does it really come down to just physicalities? To personal preference? Is it a mood? A decision? A concept? Something you're born with? A lottery ticket randomly handed at conception? Or something you were meant to be from the beginning of time? Is it genetic? Psychological? Or anything you want it to be?
Welcome on the road of history. We are headed towards an uncertain future with a yet clear end.
ÌYÁ NLÁ explores the boundaries attached to our bodies, the expectations tied to them and transcendence to creative authority. Individually, and collectively.
So, which way do we go?"
Performing will be: Morenike Olalusi (performance), Paula van Wees (cello)
