Mannheim Jazz Orchestra
The flagship of the jazz department: the big band. 2 - 3 times during the semester the Mannheim Jazz Orchestra plays its latest programs. The repertoire ranges from classical big band literature to contemporary compositions and arrangements. As soloists, you will always get to know new and young talents.
In the 2023/24 university semester, the Mannheim Jazz Orchestra will play as a "Little Big Band", in nonet format.
By the way: In 2005 the Mannheim Jazz Orchestra won the 1st prize at the national competition of the music universities.
