Since 1975, the JugendJazzOrchester NRW (JJO NRW) has stood for excellent young jazz talent and has long been a permanent fixture in the German big band landscape. In its 50th anniversary year 2025, the state ensemble is celebrating its impressive existence with numerous concerts - the year-end concert as the crowning finale of the anniversary year will take place at the Jazz-Schmiede.
Under the direction of Stefan Pfeifer-Galilea, Gabriel Pérez and Stephan Schulze, the orchestra will present an exciting mix of energetic original compositions, modern arrangements and swinging tradition - played by the best young jazz musicians in the country. An evening full of joy of playing, precision and jazz at the highest level - and a preview of the next 50 years of JJO NRW.
