Jowee Omicil, a musical genius who knows no boundaries, has received great acclaim with his album "Spiritual Healing: Bwa Kayiman Freedom Suite". BBC6's Gilles Peterson describes the album as "one of the jazz records of the year" and has praised its ability to capture the imagination of a wide audience since it was released in December.

Born in Montreal to Haitian parents, he began playing in his father's church, where he used the saxophone as a spiritual expression. From his Caribbean roots to Berklee College of Music to the New York music scene, Jowee combines a wide variety of influences. Collaborations with artists such as Ornette Coleman, Roy Hargrove, JB Dunckel (Air), Kenny Garrett, Herlin Riley, Marcus Miller, Kazy Lambist, Wyclef Jean, and André 3000 as well as his performances at Quincy Jones' 85th birthday at the Montreux Jazz Festival show his great importance in music.

"Spiritual Healing: Bwa Kayiman Freedom Suite" - Inspired by Haiti's historic Bwa Kayiman ritual, Jowee Omicil reinterprets the revolution of his ancestors through music. With a diverse line-up of instruments, including woodwinds, clarinets and flutes, he pays tribute to the gods of free jazz, in particular Ornette Coleman.
An hour-long journey of freedom, a sacred healing ceremony, carefully crafted for meditation. Under the direction of Jowee Omicil, a courageous collective fuses heritage and passion, delving into mythical realms and evoking unseen beauty through the ethereal power of sound.
