With biting black humor, razor-sharp dialogue, and a keen sense of the dark undercurrents within families, *KALTER HUND* explores power, money, and the absurdities of middle-class facades.
Marianne is quite surprised when she finds Herrmann dead in his bed on the morning of his 100th birthday. Her husband has skillfully avoided the lavish celebration with relatives and the local press by taking an overdose of pills—actually intended for the family’s pug, Berlusconi. An outrage that Marianne has no intention of making public. And so the family finds itself forced to stage an absurd farce to maintain the image of the respected model family in front of the invited guests. While the patriarch’s body is still being maneuvered through the house, a bitter dispute over the inheritance is already raging. But the will has disappeared, and amid greedy heirs, repressed truths, and a family constellation session with an eccentric shaman, dark secrets come to light.
