The mystery thriller "Cuckoo" by Tilman Singer opens the film series with debut films by KHM graduates in the winter semester. After further international festival participations, the mystery thriller was released in cinemas in the USA, the UK and Germany in August. "Cuckoo" starring Hunter Schafer ("Euphoria") was produced by Fiction Park Filmproduktion (Düsseldorf) and Waypoint Entertainment (Los Angeles). The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW backed the genre film shot on 35mm with a total of 560,000 Euros. Additional funding came from HessenFilm and the DFFF. Tilman Singer, who was already represented at the Berlinale with his KHM graduation film "Luz" (2018, 80 min. more), once again worked with his KHM fellow students Paul Faltz (camera) and Dario Mendez Acosta (production design) on "Cuckoo".
