KHM-Heimspiel zeigt: Uncivilized (Serie)

The film series HEIMSPIEL presents the series debut of KHM graduate Bilal Bahadır. The television series "Uncivilized" (ZDF) was awarded a Grimme Prize and the German Television Prize in 2025.

Content: 9/11, Charlie Hebdo, Hanau, Stuttgart riot night and the war of aggression in Ukraine: five perspectives on people from minority societies who have remained invisible in the shadow of major media events. A fiction series based on true events and more than 150 in-depth interviews. About the nuances of everyday racism and five lives that have taken an unwanted turn.

Bilal Bahadır on "Uncivilized": "The series tells an uncomfortable reality in a low-threshold way, which I know only too well from my own everyday life. 'Uncivilized' is intended to preserve this complexity and ambivalence in the stories and deliberately avoid one-dimensional portrayals and clichés. I believe that the audience can engage with the protagonists in an unbiased and compassionate way and hope that the series opens up a space for empathy and understanding - beyond common stereotypes or simple attributions."
