Kino Weltsichten: Granatäpfel und Myrrhe

In the organizer's words:

In cooperation with Café Palestine Colonia, the IFFF Dortmund+Cologne is showing Pomegranates and Myrrh, a sensual portrait of a passionate dancer who has to assert herself in the midst of political conflict.

At the time it was made, Pomegranates and Myrrh was the first feature-length film ever made by a Palestinian director and has won awards at numerous festivals.

The film will be shown in the original Arabic version with English subtitles.

Understanding, openness and coming into contact with people of different nationalities and origins are the motifs for the film series Kino Weltsichten. People with and without an international history, women with refugee experience, their families and anyone interested in excellent, often rarely shown international films directed by women are cordially invited to attend.
