KINOFLIM die Dirigentin
In the organizer's words:
Antonia Brico was the world’s first female conductor. She was born in Rotterdam in 1902 and grew up with foster parents. After graduating from the University of California, she studied piano and returned to Europe. In 1930, she made her conducting debut with the Berlin Philharmonic. This feature film—partly biographical, partly fictional—chronicles the dramatic life of a talented woman who, with tremendous willpower, never lost sight of her goal.
