The Kulturstiftung Schloss Britz presents the world premiere of the "Cantata Ayabás", composed by the German-Brazilian maestra Andréa Huguenin Botelho. This impressive work for female choir and orchestra delves deep into the rich fabric of Afro-Brazilian Candomblé, in honor of the Ayabás, the goddesses of this culture.

Andréa Huguenin Botelho, a world-renowned composer, conductor, pianist and researcher, combines her musical mastery with her deep connection to her Brazilian roots in this work. The "Cantata Ayabás" is the result of years of research and testifies to Botelho's commitment to intercultural exchange and the promotion of women in music.

Let the sounds of the Ayabás Choir Berlin (conductor: Andréa Huguenin Botelho) and the Chora Berlin choir (conductor: Elisabeth Schubert), as well as the voices of soloists Adriane Queiroz and Natalia Skrycka, transport you to a world full of music, myths and legends. The choirs are accompanied by a chamber orchestra with Brazilian percussion, which lends the work a unique timbre. A special highlight is that the concert will be conducted by the composer herself.
