In the organizer's words:
Audio Description of the Display
“Here’s what happens when a mountain like that disappears: The packaging for Toblerone chocolate has to be reprinted, and every single bar has to be taken off the store shelves and melted down because the triangular shape no longer matches.”
Thirteen-year-old Jo has decided to stop sleeping so the world doesn’t fall apart while he’s not paying attention. And a thousand-year-old prehistoric wolfhound thaws out of the ice and decides to stay with Jo through the catastrophe. Together, they set out to prevent the collapse of the Matterhorn. Meanwhile, a group of archaeologists is searching for the perfectly preserved mammoth.
The play, which has won the Hans-Gratzer Prize and the Nestroy Prize, is presented as a live radio play. The sound of the wind swirls around the audience; behind them, the rumble of an excavation site can be heard; and ahead of them, the ominous soundscape of a collapsing mountain builds.
Featuring Till Ernecke (Director | Actor), Anina Woischnig (Dramaturgy | Project Manager), Merle Smalla (Set Design | Actor), Dascha Ivanova (Actor), Benjamin Viziotis (Actor), Lorenza Laserstein (Sound DJ), and Matthias Brandt (Sound Design).
Supported by the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf Cultural Advisory Board.
