In the organizer's words:

A concert can get a bit monotonous in the long run, 2 hours of comedy will make your stomach hurt at some point, only poetry slam isn't great either and none of these shows ever feature a magician!

At Kunst gegen Bares you have none of these problems! At each show, eight small artists from a wide variety of stage arts come to Haus 73 and vie for the audience's favor. Musicians meet comedians, slam poets duel with magicians. At the end, the entire audience decides who wins the evening and gets to perform an encore with the most important thing they have at their disposal: their money. All performers are allocated a piggy bank at the beginning of the evening, into which cash is thrown at the end. The person with the highest amount of money in their pig wins and can be celebrated as the "capitalist pig of the evening" from then on.

Of course, all other performers do not go away empty-handed and can take the money from their pig home with them. "Support your local artist" is often just a phrase elsewhere, but at Kunst gegen Bares it's a show concept.
