Kuratorische Führung durch „Geteiltes Leben“
In the organizer's words:
A special exhibition at the Ephraim-Palais on art and migration in Berlin since the 1970s.
The special exhibition “Divided Lives: Art and Migration in Berlin” sets out to uncover traces of this history. It features art from the 1980s to the present day related to migration. Rarely seen works from the Berlin Museum’s collection and several loans tell stories of exile, everyday life, and self-determination.
Archival material and audio interviews with the artists complement the exhibition and offer new, cross-border perspectives on Berlin’s history and stories. Join the curators for a conversation and discover the exhibition during a guided tour!
At the same time, from September 10, 2026, through January 17, 2027, the Gropius Bau will present the exhibition “Kreuzberg: Art and Migration since 1960,” curated by Gürsoy Doğtaş and Patrizia Dander, with Sonja Borstner and Elena Franziska Setzer.
