La Jeune Parque {Die Junge Parze}
In the organizer's words:
A beach stretching endlessly into the distance, whipping spray, a headwind. We watch a young Fate running along the shore, wrestling with her destiny. Origin and consequence, background and fate seem to us humans to be directly linked. What if this connection can no longer be fathomed? In a novel co-composition blending dance, electronic music, and chamber opera, composer Matthias Krüger, dancer Élodie Sicard, and the BRuCH ensemble weave a web of sounds—much like the threads of fate of the young Fates—in which all sensory impressions intertwine. The project is a co-production with IRCAM-Centre Pompidou Paris. It is supported by the City of Cologne, the Kunststiftung NRW, the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Beethoven Foundation, the Ligeti Center, and the Friedrich Foundation.
