For many, responsibility starts with small acts: picking up trash in front of your own front door, getting involved in a sports club, or being there for your neighbors. For others, responsibility means getting involved in politics, launching cultural projects, advocating for the neighborhood, or helping to shape social change. And some say, “I’ve got just enough on my plate trying to get my own life in order.”

But how much responsibility can or should we actually take on? Is it a moral duty? Why do some people volunteer, while others feel that their efforts won’t make a difference anyway? And can we demand responsibility from others?

AtthenextLE Talk, three people with very different perspectives will come together. Together, we’ll discuss commitment, powerlessness, privilege, self-care, and the question of what responsibility actually means today.
