Leah Weigand is a poet, author, and spoken-word artist. Since 2017, she has been performing her work on stages throughout the German-speaking world. Her poetry ranges from melancholy to a zest for life, blending thoughtful imagery and rhymes with a clear-eyed view of the people and issues of our time.
Her piece “Ungepflegt” touched the hearts of millions: in it, she explores both the beauty and the hardships of the nursing profession. Leah Weigand’s first poetry collection, *Ein wenig mehr Wir*, was published by Droemer Knaur in 2024 and became a *SPIEGEL* bestseller. Her second book, *Das Gold in den Fugen – Poesie zum Hoffen* (The Gold in the Cracks—Poetry of Hope), published on April 1, 2026, also became a *SPIEGEL* bestseller.
In her new writings, Leah Weigand explores the struggle for hope in a world in flux. She focuses on the people, encounters, and small moments that give us stability—and on the gold that sometimes reveals itself precisely in the cracks.
“You can’t just have hope.
And yet, on some days,
I can grab hold of it and lift it up,
maybe carry it a little further.”
Following the reading, there will be an opportunity for discussion, a book sale, and a book-signing.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling of the event, the provisions of applicable law apply.
