What is private and what is public when one's own family embodies the state? When marriage becomes foreign policy and pregnancies are affairs of state?

The Hohenzollern family lived and worked in Berlin Palace for over five centuries. As a princely dynasty, the passing on of political power in Brandenburg, Prussia and later in the German Empire depended on the birth of their own offspring. Nevertheless, it is usually only the men who are talked about - and thus only half the truth is told.

The tour takes the exhibition intervention "Systemically relevant: Women in ruling families" as a starting point to shed light on the neglected female side of Prussia's political development and Berlin's history.
