An event of the Museum Reinickendorf in the Frohnau district library!
A portrait of the merchant Erwin Koerfgen:
Erwin Koerfgen, born in 1892 in the working-class district of Wedding, lived in Hermsdorf from 1923 until his death in 1947. As an authorized signatory of the renowned company Loeser & Wolff Zigarrenfabriken, he realized his vision of living in his own garden in what was then a suburb of the German capital. Koerfgen's remarkable personality is presented in a biographical report and the sometimes dramatic fate of his family is recounted.
Rainer Drews was born in Berlin-Hermsdorf in 1952. He studied social education, psychology and sociology at the Free University of Berlin and graduated with a degree in education in 1979. In 1990, he completed his doctorate in educational science at the FU Berlin. He then took on teaching assignments for social pedagogy at various universities in Berlin and Potsdam.
