Lesung, Musik und Talk mit Daniel Donskoy

On Monday, October 13, the internationally sought-after actor Daniel Donskoy will be coming to Ludwig with a mixture of reading, concert and talk.

According to Kiepenheuer und Witsch, Donskoy's debut novel "Brennen" is "a wild road trip through the life of a young man who only wants one thing: to feel alive. The story: Twelve years after fate has torn two friends apart, the narrator is compelled to write to his friend about filming in the Russian snow shortly before the war, about a Sicilian hunting party and a fearless dachshund, a film studio on fire near Auschwitz and about the existential struggle against a powerful British woman. The publisher promises a breathless journey, full of excesses and bizarre encounters - with flashbacks to the summers of youth in Tel Aviv, and to a night that changed everything.

Daniel Donskoy was born in Moscow and grew up in Berlin and Tel Aviv. As an actor, he has already appeared in various international film, streaming and television productions (including The Crown, Barbarians II, Tatort, Bibi & Tina). Donskoy is also a musician, director and theater producer. His novel "Brennen" will be published on October 9, 2025, just a few days before the reading.

The event at Ludwig will be hosted by Sissy Metzschke. Her work for MDR has made her one of the best-known voices in Central Germany. She has been the program director of MDR Jump since 2024.

The literary event on October 13 starts at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available in advance for €18 (concessions €16).
