Listening Session mit Rayannah und Sam Mallais, in Kooperation mit Better Things

We invite you to a special evening featuring French-language music from Canada—beyond the familiar Québec perspective.

The event brings together three artists from Francophone minority communities in Canada, each with their own unique sound and story:Rayannah fromManitoba,Sam Mallaisfrom New Brunswick’s Acadian community, andJOLY fromthe Franco-Ontarian scene.

Rayannah blendselectronica, live looping, vocals, synthesizers, and organic sound design into an intimate, atmospheric soundscape. Sam Mallaisbrings warm, raw blues and psychedelic rock with influences from the ’60s and ’70s.JOLY movesbetween folk arrangements, rock influences, and emo lyrics.

Expect an evening of listening, discovery, and immersion—with music, conversations, and small live performances. Together, we’ll explore language, identity, heritage, the DIY spirit, local scenes, and the question of what French-language music in Canada can sound like today.

An evening for anyone curious to get to know a different side of Canada.
