A great evening of novel debuts. Four particularly promising first novels will be read at the Ost-Passage Theater. When making our selection, we made sure to cover as wide a range as possible - in terms of the authors, style, themes and settings of the books: it's about an unusual family, the unconditional love of a mother for her child and the question of where it ends(Natalja Althauser: "Dunkelholz", Piper), about a radically and poetically told love story between desire and vulnerability, Berlin and Adana, Zeko and Hassan(Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç: "Hundesohn", Suhrkamp), about a biologist in the magical wilderness of Kamchatka and a language that blurs the line between poetry and research(Sophia Klink: "Kurilensee", Frankfurter Verlagsanstalt) and about the adorably witty friendship between two destitute female students in Moscow in the noughties who only want one thing: to get away(Maya Rosa: "Moscow Mule", Penguin). The whole thing is presented by Linn Penelope Rieger. Anyone interested in the voices of tomorrow should keep this evening free and get their tickets quickly.
