LiteraturKonzert: Heinrich Heine: Reise von München nach Genua
In the organizer's words:
A literary concert with Stephan Schäfer (recitation) and Roman Sayutov (piano) at the vhs-Forum takes us on a journey to Italy. Like many other writers before him, Heinrich Heine took a trip to Italy. Travelogues already had a long tradition in the early 19th century, but travel literature reached a peak with Heine's "Reisebilder". In his "Journey from Munich to Genoa" (1830), Heine describes his impressions of his trip to Italy in 1828, which took him via Trento, Verona and Milan to Genoa. He describes the country and its people with great sensitivity, sometimes mocking political and social conditions.
He is accompanied by the renowned pianist Roman Salyutov.
Stephan Schäfer studied at the Hanover University of Music and Drama and at the Bremen University of the Arts. He founded the "Kölner Künstler-Sekretariat" in 2001 to promote literature and classical music. He has since organized and moderated over 1000 readings and concerts.
Roman Salyutov, born in Leningrad, studied piano and conducting in St. Petersburg and Cologne and completed his doctorate in musicology in Paderborn. Among other things, he is chief conductor of the Bergisch Gladbach Symphony Orchestra. He is also the founder and director of the German-Israeli Yachad Chamber Orchestra.
