Daniel Avens, who started out playing traditional folk songs in bars around his home town of Füssen, always experiences the same phenomenon. One can only guess whether it is due to his natural, relaxed manner, the casual way he wears his hair or his loose shirts, but concerts are usually "a kind of revelation", as he laughingly describes it, especially for a new audience.
Nobody would believe that the 26-year-old, who has just recorded his debut album, has this voice. And yet, as soon as he takes to the stage with his band "The Cascading Waters", there is this young, powerful storyteller who invites you into his world of thought with his unmistakable vocals, as a keen observer, uncompromising critic of inequality and nostalgic romantic.
