In the organizer's words:
LOVE HARDCORE, HATE ANTISEMITISM II - Punk Matinee at the Skatebowl
featuring Jude, Loser Youth, The Prim, Die Ausreden, and Daimajin, an English-language talk, and a screen printing workshop
Screen-Printing Workshop
We invite everyone—but especially young people interested in the topic—to join us for a screen-printing session. With the help of Pit and his years of expertise, you can decorate socks and bags with themed designs. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity.
JUDE / LODZ - two four-letter words: Multimedia talk (in English) by Wiktor Skok (Jude)
The lecture will provide an introduction to the history of Judaism in Lodz since the 19th century, with a particular focus on World War II and the Shoah. It will cover the Litzmannstadt Ghetto as well as the city’s role in Nazi propaganda. It will also shed light on related commemoration and remembrance during the Soviet era. Furthermore, the origins and self-identification of the Jewish band Jude—as residents of the Baluty district since the 1990s and especially since October 7, 2023—will be traced.
Jude from Łódź (Poland) are not just a doom and industrial band, but a multimedia intervention. Not only can they look back on numerous successful albums, videos, and concerts, but they are also artistically active through exhibitions and other formats.
The Prim play political powerviolence: they tackle feminist themes and DIY culture with heavy riffs and brutal vocals. Their concerts are characterized by short, highly explosive songs with an aggressive tempo.
Musically, Die Ausreden are firmly rooted in German-language punk rock, yet their sound takes unexpected turns: pop-inspired melodies meet garage-punk energy, and political stances collide with witty observations of everyday life. Sometimes with a wink, sometimes bluntly direct, the band criticizes social and political injustices—without losing the joy of singing along, dancing, and going wild.
Loser Youth make one-minute punk songs against everything that sucks (e.g., Germany, sexism, social injustices) with a bit of ’80s hardcore and a bit of garage influence or something like that.
Daimajin moves between metalcore and hardcore, combining heavy riffs with melodic and melancholic passages. The band has been around for over ten years and was purely instrumental for a long time. With new vocals and new songs, Daimajin is now turning the page to the next chapter—energetic and emotional, with a sound that blends intensity and atmosphere.
The event is part of the program for Tacheles 2026, the Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony, and is sponsored by the City of Leipzig’s Department of Culture and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony.
