Luis Gallo and Max Clouth share a love of the guitar: "Making music is like cooking, it's about good ingredients, good timing and good taste," says Max Clouth. "And about trying out fresh recipes sometimes!" adds Luis Gallo.
Luis Gallo is a Spanish guitarist and composer who straddles the border between flamenco and jazz. He has taken his music all over the world, collaborating with personalities such as Ara Malikian, the Covent Garden Soloist Orchestra, Hans Zimmer and most recently with jazz guitar legend John Stowell.
Max Clouth is a guitarist who clearly stands in the tradition of virtuosos such as the great John McLaughlin. Not only because he can play at an incredible speed, but also because he has a fable for Indian music. He also plays a special guitar with a double neck (christened the Lotus guitar) on which he can produce both the "classical" sound of a guitar as well as sitar or oud-like sounds. For Max Clouth, music today is a planet where you can discover new and old not only between East and West, but also along the entire timeline of cultural development.
So now a duo of these two border crossers. "The guitar can be transferred to any culture. For me, it's like a bridge!" says Luis. Max adds: "Luis speaks English with a Spanish accent, I speak German, but in the end we both speak music, we speak guitar!"
