The festival for contemporary circus arts has been presenting international productions and regional pieces in Hamburg-Lurup for 9 years - and is now the most important circus festival in northern Germany. A weekend full of innovative artistry, workshops, exhibitions and encounters awaits you in the large Chapiteau and on open-air stages - with Free admission and a neighborly atmosphere.

The LURUPINA Circus Festival is organized by the Lichtwark-Forum e.V. and has been supported in recent years by the Hamburg-Altona district authority, among others. The festival is very well known in the region.

The festival kicks off on Friday with the spectacular LURUPINA-GALA, where all the artists present highlights from their shows. From Saturday, the site opens with a varied program: international premieres by Scenic Circus ("Diaries in Motion") and Less Kuerdas ("DRIFT"), youth and regional circus, Cirque de Quartier, music, hands-on activities and exhibitions. A highlight is the record release concert by Microphone Mafia.
