Performance by the Young PATHOS Collective
Lucifer was an archangel and his beauty, intelligence and charisma made him special. But his self-confidence was his undoing, because he believed he could take on God and challenge him. As punishment, he was banished to hell and since then has been a symbol of evil, sin and seduction.
In our project we want to tell another version of the story. In this one Luzi*fer is a queer being who could not exist under the patriarchy of God and therefore - out of his own conviction - broke out. Luzi*fer - light bearer* - is for us a character who embodies the freedom to be anything she wants and to be as she feels.
Four young actors of the YPK deal artistically with queerness, diversity and discrimination: they connect and ally with Luzi*fer and give him / her artistic spaces to unfold through their own biographies. For them, it is high time to give Luzi* a new, bright place in history and society:
"If one were to perform exorcism on me, to take out of me the queer demon that I am possessed by, then that, I am sure, would be a good being, a beautiful being, a being driven by tenderness and love."
