In the organizer's words:

Setting an example together!

Together with the Jewish Community Düsseldorf and the Nelly Sachs House, the Heinrich Heine Institute cordially invites you to the fifth poetry marathon "Word to Word". We would like to make a literary statement together with you: For solidarity, interculture and diversity.

The participants will each take turns reciting a poem and the event will be accompanied by musical interludes. Be our guest and listen - or become active yourself and read out your favorite poem.

Since 2015, more than 300 Düsseldorf citizens have taken part in the readings of poems by German-Jewish authors such as Rose Ausländer, Paul Celan, Nelly Sachs and Heinrich Heine.

We are happy to support and advise you in your choice of poems. You can choose from poems from Herbert Schmidt's anthology "Is it joy, is it pain?" as well as poems by Heinrich Heine. Translations of the poems are very welcome, which can be recited in other languages at the poetry marathon.

Send us an e-mail to friedrich.pawlowsky@duesseldorf.de, call us on 0211 - 8995574 or visit the open poetry consultation hour at the Heinrich Heine Institute (June 2, 12 and 17, 3-5 p.m., Bilker Straße 12-14, 40213 Düsseldorf).
